VPN Not Working: Troubleshooting Guide
If your VPN is not working: 1. Re-import the config from your subscription link. 2. Set device time to automatic. 3. Test on mobile data. 4. Try a different server. 5. If none of these work, contact support with your device, OS version, client name and the exact error message.
Step 1: Re-import your config
Outdated configs are the most common cause of connection failure. Your subscription link always points to the current server list. Delete the old profile and re-import from the link in your Outlivion dashboard.
Step 2: Check device time
VPN protocols use TLS handshakes that require accurate time. If your device clock is more than a few minutes off, connections fail. Go to Settings and ensure date, time and timezone are set automatically.
Step 3: Test on mobile data
If the VPN works on mobile data but not on Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi network is blocking VPN traffic. Switch to mobile data or try a different Wi-Fi network.
If it fails on both, the problem is likely config, client or account.
Step 4: Try a different server
After re-importing the config, the client should show multiple server options. If one does not connect, try another. Some servers may be temporarily overloaded or blocked by specific networks.
Step 5: Contact support
If steps 1–4 did not resolve the issue: contact support. Include your device model, OS version, client app name and version, which network you are on, and the exact error message.
Do not continue guessing — systematic information gets faster resolution than vague descriptions.

Frequently asked questions
Hotel networks often block VPN protocols. Try mobile data to confirm. VLESS + Reality passes through most hotel filters; re-import your config if it has not been updated recently.
Enable TUN mode if you are in proxy mode — some apps do not use the proxy. Also check for DNS leaks: your DNS may be bypassing the VPN tunnel.
Only as a last resort after re-importing the config and testing on mobile data. A fresh config re-import fixes most problems without reinstalling.
Device model, OS version, client app and version, the network you are on (home/hotel/mobile), what you have already tried, and the exact error message.
